Whether you are planning for the future or would just like to learn more about what we do, our cemetery staff would be honored to give you a guided tour of the cemetery grounds. This is an important step in understanding natural burial, getting to know our sanctuary, and making an informed decision.
Join our Conservation Cemetery staff every Second Saturday and Third Friday of the month for Information Sessions and Tours. Staff will meet guests at the Katy Prairie Welcome Center (31975 Hebert) at 10:00 AM to share an informational talk about conservation burial. Following the information session, our team will then lead a caravan to Blazing Star Sanctuary (31930 Morrison) for guided tours of the conservation cemetery grounds.
Our cemetery staff are happy to work with any funeral director your family chooses. We are also happy to recommend funeral directors who are skilled in natural body preparation for green burial.

Green Burial allows the body to return to the earth in a natural and dignified way.
We permit body and cremated remains interments in natural, biodegradable containers. Common choices are linen or cotton shrouds, untreated wooden caskets and urns, and cardboard or woven fiber coffins. In the State of Texas, families are not required to purchase a casket or urn through a funeral home.
We offer natural burial as well as interment of cremated remains.
We offer payment plans for PRE NEED burial plot purchases. All required paperwork must be completed and payment made in full before the burial. Please contact us for more details.

$1,200 Additional Cremains Space within Large, Natural Burial Plot (13.5 ft. x 8 ft):

Note: Cremains Space may only be purchased as an optional addition to the purchase of a Large, Natural Burial Plot. No more than two (2) Cremains Spaces may be added within a Large Plot

Opening and Closing of Burial Plots for natural burials and cremated remains interments are handled by a cemetery services contractor or by Nature’s Burial staff and volunteers. Current costs are provided below. Family members and loved ones can also choose to close a burial plot by hand. Shovels and safety supplies will be provided by the sanctuary.
Use of the Indiangrass Preserve Welcome Center for Memorial Gatherings may be permissible with prior agreement of the Coastal Prairie Conservancy, subject to availability.
Natural Burial, to include opening, closing, tent, chairs (12), engraved marker placement, use of burial wagon, native prairie hay and wildflower seed ceremony, service coordination and graveside attendance.
Cremains Interment, to include opening, closing, tent, chairs (12), engraved marker placement, native prairie hay and wildflower seed ceremony, service coordination, and graveside attendance.
Holiday charges are an additional $400.
Holidays include New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, and Christmas Eve.
No services on Easter Sunday, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
